Why This Retreat Matters For You

Brothers and Sisters, There is an energy in the air. The recent wave of emotion around the “Alabama boat brawl” showed us that our spirits are yearning for a release from the societal traumas we have endured throughout our lives. But that attack on an innocent elder did not tell us anything we did not already know. But our response reminded us that we often suppress our emotions about the injustice done to us. Recognizing this, the African-Centered Wellness experience, Black Therapy Central, and Onipa Psychological and Consulting Services created another collaboration for those who recognize that we have to transform before things around us can transform.

The mental health impact is unavoidable when systemic injustice is so pervasive in everyday life. It can weigh you down or make you harden. s and daily challenges that weigh heavy on our hearts. These are not your burdens to bear alone. We are a collective, bound by our shared heritage and experiences. Just as the excitement around the boat brawl revealed a collective desire for release, we must channel that same energy into a force that uplifts us all.

This thing in our present does not define us or our future. So let’s gather in a space where we can rejuvenate, elevate, and connect with ancestral wisdom.

This is why the African-Centered Wellness Retreat, Black Therapy Central, and Onipa are joining forces. WHAT IT IS NOT About anyone other than us focusing on healing us.

What is the African-Centered Wholistic Wellness Retreat

Together, we will create a space for healing that combines African spirituality, ancestral wisdom, and modern psychology. We are laying the foundation for a brighter future. Brothers and sisters, this is not a quick fix. This is a lifelong commitment to ourselves and our community. It is a journey towards transformation that will radiate from within, touching not only our lives but the lives of those around us and the generations yet to come. If the excitement of recent weeks taught us anything, it is that our spirits are ready for change. So, let’s harness that energy and direct it towards something meaningful. Join us in this sacred journey towards healing, liberation, and joy. This is not just an invitation; it is a call to action. A call to rise, to flourish, and to become the radiant beings we were always meant to be.
